LEGO Gift Idea Harry Potter Diagon Alley
- Ollivander’s, Borgin and Burke’s, Gringott’s Bank
- Finished set covers two square feet
- Over 2000 pieces; difficulty rated age 14+
In the Harry Potter world, Diagon Alley is basically the local strip mall; it’s where you go to get your daily necessities, and where the kids go to hang out and cause trouble in the parking lot until someone yells at them. Anyone who likes Harry Potter and building stuff will be thrilled at this LEGO Diagon Alley Kit. When finished, it’s two square feet and eight inches high — a substantial building project with a generous reward.
We’ll admit it; we’ve only seen one scene of Harry Potter, and it was dubbed in Japanese. But even we can see just from the outside of the LEGO box that something special is inside. There are three buildings and 11 characters, and the design is fantastic. With over two thousand pieces and a rating of 14+ based solely on difficulty, it’s a little intimidating to a novice LEGOer, but an excellent challenge for an older kid with an eye for detail, or a younger one with very patient parents. Popular with children and adults alike, it’s a great choice for families.

The HARRY POTTER phenomenon has reached it’s peak as it teamed-up with toy making legend LEGO. At first I couldn’t believe that the availability of the product is true because of the hype about Harry Potter but when I checked it out here on giftideas.ws, I just thought it was awesome! My son is a 5 year old LEGO fanatic. The toy was a challenge at first but it has more than the phenomenal wizard’s fame into it. The game’s got educational purposes into it. My son loved the challenging twist of building and matching the alleys. It also serves as a great collector’s item for Harry Potter fanatics. My high school sophomore kids loves this too.
I am a huge Harry Potter fan and I’d say that this game brought my fan fantasies to new heights. The game is tricky at first because of the number of pieces it would take to complete it but the challenge was more of exciting than stressful. Buildings that make-up the alley can be intertwined and interchanged. There are components that may not be mix matched but the cool part is, They still blend well together. I bought two of these , One for use and one stocked for collector’s purposes. I might proudly say that my $149.99 (x 2 because I bought two sets) may be worth triple in years time especially since the last films and books came to conclusive ends. The phenomenon shows no sign of disappearing anytime soon so I might as well relive the Harry Potter era with this valuable part of my HP franchise collection.
