The rhymes in this book are really funny and it is illustrated in the style of a typical children’s story book. Go the F**ck to Sleep is the perfect gift for a new parent; it makes a great baby shower present. It is a great coffee table book… everyone who picks it up is sure to get a huge kick out of it.
My wife recently gave birth to our first daughter last Spring and believe me, She’s driving us nuts! Good thing a friend recommended we buy this book when he saw it at amazon. This book isn’t just about the humor behind it but about what it feels like to be moms’ and dads’ for the first or nth time. It’s not a book for kids but with illustrations that will bring out the kid inside all of us that we tend to forget because we already become parents of our own brood. The illustrations and play of words were just hilarious and hearty. People tend to take parenting seriously but in reality, it should be fun for both you and your kids. This book just shoves us back to that forgotten truth.
This book is not the typical self-help or should I say “self-pity” books that are out in the market today. We often drown ourselves with these self-help materials that we tend to drain the fun and humor that can still be found in spite our dilemmas. This book manifests the beauty behind the usual turmoil of putting a child to sleep. That it could still be fun after all and In parenting, Self-help is there when self-pity ends. Who doesn’t hate sleepless nights? But the good news about “Go the F**k to Sleep” is it offers you to find the practical solutions by your own perspective, It is not spoon fed. The book feeds the help through adult humor that we all enjoy but the rest is up to how we use it.
