This is a beautiful child’s tale about a baby rabbit called Marshmallow who moves into a home where a tabby cat called Oliver lives. This is the tale of how Oliver and Marshmallow become the best of friends despite Oliver not really liking Marshmallow at first. This is a true classic of children’s literature this is the way a children’s book should be written it tells a nice and simple tale but it never talks down to the people reading it. Being first released all the way back in 1942 this book has stood the test of time wonderfully and is now here to entertain a whole new generation of children.
This would be a fantastic book for a parent to read to a child, a very captivating tale with two characters who children will just simply fall in love with. Marshmallow’s simplistic art style really compliments the story. Many older children’s books artwork tends to become very dated even if the story has not, this is not the case with Marshmallow the gorgeous simple artwork looks as good now as it did when your grandparents told the story to you as a child.
This would be a fantastic book for any parent to get there child what better way to spend some time together just before bed than with the lovely tale of a tabby cat named Tom and the little bunny Marshmallow who will just not give up until they are best friends. This is one of those classic books that you can enjoy reading to your child and then keep it for years so your own children can then tell the tale to there own little ones when they come along. A great little read that will have your junior readers begging you for just one more page.
I remember my grandmother reading to me this wonderful book, so I had to get it so I could read to my own child. I love how the story shows two different animals, a bunny and a cat, getting along under one roof. This is a story for the ages and I cannot recommend it enough, if you have children then you need to buy this book and read to them this wonderful story.
Reading to a child is an effective way of bonding and choosing this book will foster a love for books from an early age. The theme of the story is enduring one as it pertains to friendship and perseverance with the characters appearing to be real.
