Black Glass Lighter
- Innovative cut glass design
- Amazing texture to see and feel
- Striking and stylish in black
The brilliant black and precise angular cuts make this glass lighter from Katharine Pooley an optical illusion as well as a pleasure to use. The novel texture and design together make this a one-of-a-kind piece that will be treasured.
The tiny pyramids that compose each face seem exaggeratedly 3D in some lights, and flat as an Escher drawing in others. Angle it just so, and the pyramids even invert themselves. The simple act of taking the lighter out and offering it transforms this piece into a dynamic shape-shifting stone, like a living piece of obsidian or a colony of crystal-based life forms. Turn it around and around in your hand, and be amazed every single time.
It’s a lighter, but with its distinct texture, it’s also a stress reliever. Roll it around on your palm — it feels great! It’s a mini massage on all your palm pressure points, and it might become a bit of an addiction. A wonderful piece for a cigar aficionado or a casual smoker.

When I first visited Europe I stayed with a couple who lived in West Berlin, and on their coffee table was a beautiful marble lighter like this one shown. I thought it was the last word in elegance and sophistication! So when I saw this glass version I was very impressed all over again! I love the idea of the facets reflecting the light, and the fact that it looks very sturdy and solid. Imagine having this out on display, even if we no longer tend to smoke in our houses. Perhaps it would be great for a cigar smoker? In any case, it certainly is a collectible!
